Latest version of the evolving masterplan (December 2025)
A consortium of Barwood Land, Parker Strategic Land and Leicestershire County Council (LCC) is in the process of promoting land to the west of Stoney Stanton for the development of up to three new communities.
The new communities would help complement, protect and support life in the surrounding villages with new services, while accommodating the new housing required for Leicestershire.
The consortium is currently in the process of evolving the vision for the new settlement which will culminate in Blaby District Council deciding, through its Local Plan process, whether the site should be allocated for development. Subject to the draft allocation of the site, we anticipate submitting an outline planning application in parallel with Blaby District Council’s submission of a new Local Plan to the Planning Inspectorate.

April 2026 - Project update
We have updated our project timeline following a delay to Blaby District Council’s (BDC) Local Plan timetable.
The Plan was due to be presented to Full Council on 14 April, seeking approval to proceed to the next stage of consultation (Regulation 19). However, due to outstanding transport evidence, it cannot progress as planned.
It is now anticipated that the Plan will be presented to Full Council over the summer, subject to the required evidence being completed. If approved, the Regulation 19 consultation will follow and will run for a period of six weeks.

CLG meeting 7 to discuss the Regulation 19 consultation plan

CLG meeting 8 on Highways and Drainage
